Problems at the Jerusalem Consultation

Identify the root of the problems at the Jerusalem consultation (ch. 15). Describe how that root manifests itself in today's church, and how we should address it.

The problems surrounded whether Christians should become a Jew, and obey their laws first. Further, could the Gentiles have fellowship with the Jewish Christians if they did not? Today, these problems are parallel in terms of theological and denominational divisions concerning: baptism, the Spirit, Spiritual gifting, even within what is acceptable regarding Christian, social and cultural practices. We need clarity on the essentials of Christian faith and a return to Jesus' priorities, including - protecting unity.
