Permission is granted by making a student a member of the usergroup associated with that particular course. If after registering you start taking another course and need access to that particular forum see the next thread entitled Requesting Permission to Post in a Forum.
***If you can log in using your username and password from the old forum but you cannot post in your course then see the next thread entitled Requesting Permission to Post in a Forum.
2) Browse the forums and Click on the course that you are currently enrolled in.
